The Lighthouse of Alexandria was another one of the seven ancient wonders. It helped to ensure sailors a safe return to the Great Harbor. The lighthouse is gone, however its significance was important in history.

Pack your bags with materials from your Arabic language lessons and head approximately fifty kilometers south of Baghdad, Iraq. On the east bank of the River Euphrates was another ancient wonder. According to ancient Greek sources, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon had fruits, flowers, waterfalls, gardens and exotic animals. This wonder was a breathe-taking palace for the royal. The palace is no longer there however it is well documented in history.

The education you will receive from Arabic language lessons allows you to surf the web and get Arabic recipes straight from the locals. People in the Middle East enjoy a barbeque just as Americans. However, their food preparation is a little different than you may be used to. Making traditional desserts such as a tray of Arabic baklava (lighter version than the Greek baklava) or a batch of mamoul (form of date cookies) using skills from Arabic language lessons can be something the whole family would enjoy.
